Avalon by Skurkan is a sewing pattern for a protective sleeve for books, e-readers and small tablets. This bag can be sewn in a variety of materials and is interfaced with foam to give the book/e-reader/tablet protection. There is three different sizes included in this pattern; small, medium and large.
In the pattern are instructions on how to adapt the magnetic placement to be able to install a decorative magnet as well as how to install it.
This is not a finished bag. This is a digital sewing pattern including instructions to download and print at home to help you create your own bag.

This is a quick sewing pattern, perfect for beginner bagmakers.
The pattern is domestic machine friendly as long as you choose materials suitable to your machine.
Approx. size on the finished bag
Small: 6.5” x 8.25” (16,5 x 21 cm) - E-reader sleeve (such as Kindle, Kobo)
Medium: 8.5” x 10.75” (21,5 x 27 cm) - Book sleeve
Large: 9.75” x 11.75” (24,5 x 29,5 cm) - Book or tablet sleeve
Materials and Supplies Requirements
Exterior fabric:
- 9.5-13” x 22-32” (24-33 cm x 56-82 cm) woven fabrics such as quilt cotton, canvas, panama cotton, poplin, cotton satin, oxford (WRC), waterproof canvas (WPC) or viny
Lining fabric:
- 9.5-12.5” x 22-32” (24-32 cm x 56-82 cm) thin woven fabrics such as quilt cotton, cotton woven, oxford (WRC)
Interfacing and stabilzer:
- 19-47.5” x 20" (49-120 cm x 50 cm) thin, woven interfacing, such as Vliseline G700, Pellon SF101
- 7.5-13" x 19-23.5" (19-33 cm x 49-60 cm) foam interfacing, such as Vliseline Style-Vil, Soft and Stable by Annie, Bosal In-R-Form
